Daily: Participants of this year's Open Studio Art Tours are featured in the Art Tours Collective showcase at A Roadside Attraction. All artwork will be on display now through the 10 day event to give art lovers the chance to see the work of the artists and galleries at one location. The show will run until November 17th. Sponsored by the Town of Yucca Valley this event is taking place in a empty lot adjacent to the Water Canyon Café and Maverick Queen (# 7 on Art Tours Maps). Without models or preliminary sketches, Fisher magically pulls figures out of the stone in a process that brings together the artist, the material, the audience, and the setting in a way that amplifies the beauty and strength of each. 29 Palms: 6:00 pm 4th Annual Halloween Haunt “Ghost Town” at Theatre 29 in 29 Palms. For this incarnation of the haunt, Producer Eric Ross “dug up” a cast of 22 who have converted the John Calveri Theatre and environs on Sullivan Rd into an Old West Ghost Town that houses more than ghosts. The undead denizens of Ghost Town will aim to terrify, so parents of small children are warned that the visuals may be too traumatic for them. Performances of this seasonal scare fest will begin at 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm Friday and Saturday. This will include highlights from the EarthWorksNow 2005 and Evidence 11 shows. Mr. Downer will be presenting in detail the work of internationally acclaimed sculptor Roger Andrews from Australia and plans for his first permanent, large scale earth work in the United States to be built at CMC in the near future.
